King of Jewish Punk, Steve Lieberman “The Gangsta Rabbi” celebrates the monumentous acheivment of signing to JDub Records, the label that made Matisyahu a star . Lieberman is a bass revolutionary, eccentric flutist and exotic multi-instrumentalist and jazz trombonist who has played dark, dusty late night open-mic’s until leukemia sidelined him, opened for Andrew WK, the Misfits and Dunn & Vito at large Long Island clubs and has played flute for Weezer at Madison Square Garden, has had entire radio shows on college and community radio.  He is a prolific songwriter, commercially releasing 25 cd’s since 2002 selling over 110,000. His creativity extends from bi-polar upcycles. He is on Wikipedia’s List of Notable Outsider Musicians.

Lieberman’s content throughout his career dealt with controversial subject matter as Jewish pride, struggles with bi-polar disorder, anti-racism. poitics and sex. A favorite of the outsiders because he speaks for them, he is not really understood by the mainsteam.

Musically, Steve Lieberman’s music was described by WRXP New York City DJ Rich Russo as “Jethro Tull meets the Beastie Boys” when he played “I Wish That I Was Hot” on the Anything Anything radio show on 7/26/2009. , Lieberman plays all leads and chord on overdriven 4-string basses,adding left-handed and right-handed guitars in 2010 fusing punk, metal, Jewish music, dance , prog-rock, jazz and marching band music forming the Diaspora Punk genre.

Now with terminal leukemia, recording every day and releasing album every few months, the last Terminator V617F. now working on #26 “the Gangsta Rabbi’s Quadrophenia”
